About the event

Exhibition Artist Profiles:

Luo Jiansheng: A professional Canadian-Chinese artist who has studied painting and calligraphy under various renowned masters. His artistry spans from Song-Yuan landscape and modern Chinese landscape and flower-and-bird paintings, actively promoting the dissemination and elevation of Chinese painting in Canada. He has held solo exhibitions in mainland China and overseas, with his works selected multiple times in international art exhibitions and expos. Luo Jiansheng has received accolades such as the Most Influential Chinese Art Master Award in Contemporary China, Best Creativity Award at the Beijing International Art Expo, Best Original Artwork Award at the Guangzhou International Art Expo, and has twice been featured in the Hong Kong Global Ink Art Exhibition. In 2021, he was honored with the Canadian New Maple Art Award and more.

Meng Jianping: An enthusiastic visual artist based in Toronto, specializing in two series: ballet dancers and abstract art. His work blends Impressionist painting techniques with abstract art concepts, creating a unique modern art style that captures the elegance and dynamism of ballet dancers. Having traveled and worked in over 30 countries, Meng has gained insights into how different cultures and backgrounds interpret art. For decades, he has explored how to capture the fleeting beauty of human movement on canvas and immerse the audience in a dual dream world of ballet and abstract art.

Zhang Liang: A professional painter known for his ultimate realism in oil painting, distinct from Western hyperrealism or photorealism. His creations, under the influence of the art of Cold Jun, originate from the spirit of communication with the subjects during the creative process. Zhang Liang's works exhibit the artistic essence that is difficult for a camera to replicate, combined with a meticulous enlargement that retains a painterly quality. His creations also display the simplicity, referential nature, and lyrical characteristics of traditional Chinese literati painting, along with elements of Western composition and romanticism and conceptual reflections on the era. In recent years, Zhang Liang has produced oil paintings of bamboo, peonies, irises, and more with accurate forms, elegant colors, a free and easy brushwork, and a distinctive style, captivating with a visual charm that balances realism and expression. His works are primarily held by private collectors and circulated in the auction market.

Ren Ya: A Chinese traditional painter with accreditation in the ZSQ9000A Art System in 2005, holding the title of Chinese traditional painter and a National First-Class Artist. She has won awards in various art exhibitions and was featured in the commemorative stamp album for renowned Chinese painters who contributed to the victory in the Anti-Japanese War. Ren Ya is not only a Chinese traditional painter but is also dedicated to promoting Chinese culture overseas. She has curated Sino-Canadian cultural exchange exhibitions and worked in Chinese traditional painting education.
